We don't wish that the celebration of the IV centenary of Cervantes and Shakespeare disappears other centenaries (death or birth) of great writers: Jack London, Antonio Buero Vallejo, Camilo José Cela, Charlotte Brontë, Rubén Darío, Roald Dahl, Giorgio Bassani... So, this summer, we decided to remember them exhibiting his works in the library.
Playwright, essayist, storyteller and, mainly, poet. This is Manuel María Fernández Teixeiro, with sufficient merits to devote him the Día das Letras Galegas 2016 and our library, an exhibition with their works.

On May 18, 1916, the brothers Villar Ponte summoned an assembly in the Real Academia Galega de A Coruña, to which assisted intellectuals like Manuel Lugrís Freire, Florencio Vaamonde Lores, Uxío Carré Aldao and Francisco Tettamancy, among others. There it was born the first of the Irmandades da Fala, nationalist organisation active until 1931 that would have like aim the defence, exaltation and promotion of the language and culture of Galicia, developing an important literary and political work.
