In 2006 she also organised the 17th SELIM (Spanish Society for Mediaeval English Language and Literature) Conference. Later on, in May 2010, together with some members of the team she organised the Second International Conference of the Spanish Society of Corpus Linguistics.

Isabel serves in the executive and editorial board of SELIM and has also acted as a reviewer for other journals.

Her main research interests are language contact and language change (especially in Middle English), word-formation processes and other processes of lexicon enlargement in the History of English, genre/text-type taxonomy and the diachronic development of scientific English writing.

She teaches a monograph on English Diachronic Dialectology (undergraduate, 4th year), and a postgraduate course on Corpus Linguistics together with Begoña Crespo.
